Now that Barack Hussein Obama is officially the President of the United States of America, let’s ask the question, “What if Al Gore had become president of the United States in 2000?”

He did get the most popular votes, and except for some corrupt cronies on the Supreme Court, he would have won the recount in Florida.
What would the last eight years have been like?
It’s not likely that 9/11 would have happened, or at least not happened the way it did.
Al Gore’s administration would not have ignored a briefing that read, “Bin Laden determined to attack within the United States”
If 9/11 had happened, it’s not likely we would have been diverted into a neocon wet dream war in Iraq.
Would the response to Hurricane Katrina have been so inept? Probably not. The Clinton administration had FEMA working pretty well, and it’s likely that a Gore administration would have kept it up.
Would the real estate and banking crisises have occurred? Probably not, or at least not to the same extent that happened under Bush. It was the deregulation, and lack of enforcement of the little regulation left, that lead to those crashes.
In short, the world would be a much different place had the Supreme court not appointed George Dubya “shrub” Bush to the presidency.
